A visit to a pool is always a fun time. Swimming in the water, splashing around and spending time with family and friends - nothing gets better than that.

Although pools seem so welcoming, everyone has to be committed to safety precautions to guarantee a safe pool visit.

Here are three tips to keep in mind while enjoying the water:

1. Learn to swim

2. Learn CPR

3. Wear a US Coast Guard approved personal floatation device (PFD).

When we commit to learning to swim, perform CPR and wear PFDs, everyone is able to experience the fun, and recreational benefits of water.

At VCU Rec Sports, we offer a variety of learn-to-swim courses, at various levels. We also take pride in instructing the highest quality American Red Cross certification classes. We welcome all members of the community to take a variety of certification classes with our qualified instructors.
