Rec Sports Night teams up with Water Wars for an incredible Welcome Week Monday night! Join us for activities on Cary Street Field, Linden Street and all throughout the Cary Street Gym. Grab a passport to fill out, and be entered into the Welcome Week prize drawing.

Dance to beats spun by our resident DJ while you take in all Rec Sports Night and Water Wars 2018 has to offer!

    • Rec Sports Aquatics program staff will be on hand to chat with you about swim lessons, informal rec at the pools, and lifeguard employment opportunities.

  • Intramural Sports
    • Wanna play? Intramural Sports staff will be on hand to give you the details on hot to form or join a team, register for a league and keep up with your standings. Find out about the 2018 Hall Cup!
  • Wellness
    • Learn how Rec Sports Wellness can help you maintain balance, eat healthily and move more throughout the school year.
  • Sport Clubs
    • Get a quick overview of the Sport Club Program before meeting the clubs inside Cary Street Gym.

    • Join us for a showcase of various intramural sport activities that take place throughout the year.  Try out small-sided soccer, lawn games (cornhole, kan jam, ultimate frisbee), and Wiffle ball

    • Ever wanted to learn how to slackline? OAP staff will coach you through standing & walking on the line, and be on-hand to demonstrate some more advanced skills as well.

    • Our basic Fitness Assessment is a tool to help you learn more about your personal fitness level and general health status. You’ll be able to assess body composition, specific aspects of fitness such as muscular endurance and strength with one of our Certified Personal Trainers.
  • Perfect Your Form  -- Fitness Center: Squat Rack, Deadlift Platform, Bench, first floor
    • Let us help you perfect your form in the three major lifts: Squat, bench press, and deadlift. With the help of one of our Certified Personal Trainers, you'll learn how to perform these movements safely and effectively.
  • Group Exercise Info  -- Outside Group Exercise Studio/Mind Body Studio, first floor
    • Meet some of our Group Exercise Instructors, discover our 75 classes each week, and learn how you can join our team!

    • Climb the Cary Street Gym Climbing Wall with our Outdoor Adventure Program. It’s free, all gear is provided, and no previous experience is needed.

Aquatics:  Log Rolling and Slacklining --  Aquatics Center Activity Pool, lower level
Join OAP and Aquatics in the pool to learn how to log roll and slackline. Trained instructors will teach you how to stand and run on the log roller and slackline across the pool. Join us to improve your balance, work out and have fun doing so!  Please wear pool-appropriate swimwear/clothing.

Structured Sports: Wheelchair Basketball with Sportable -- Court 1, first floor
Take part in wheelchair basketball and learn about our adaptive recreation programs.

5:15 - 6:00
Group Ex: Cardio Dance -- Group Exercise Studio, first floor
This dance-inspired, cardio class will incorporate upbeat music to easy-to-follow dance moves. The routines feature a variety of music genres and styles of dance.  experience necessary, just the readiness to shake it all out!

Group Ex: Yoga --  Mind Body Studio, first floor
This class moves through a variety of yoga poses in a balanced and systematic way also incorporating Vinyasa work: the union of the breath and movement. Benefits of this type of training include heightened body awareness and mental focus, tension release, increased range of motion at the joints, and an overall sensation of more balance in life. The session ends with restorative work, which energizes the body through passive stretch techniques.

Small Group Training: Trek the Tread -- Treadmills facing Climbing Wall, fitness mezzanine
Try out our newest Small Group Training program, Trek the Tread, centered around improving your endurance on the treadmill. We'll run through different skills, such as hills, intervals, and sprints. This class is great for all fitness levels and will run in 15-minute increments.

5:30 - 7:30 

Small Group Training: Bootcamp -- Fitness Center, first floor
Join us on the fitness floor for a preview of one of our signature Small Group Training programs, Bootcamp! Bootcamp will challenge you physically and mentally to reach new heights of intensity. This class is great for all fitness levels and will run in 15-minute increments.

5:30 - 6:15 
Group Ex: Cycle -- Cycle Studio, Lower Level
Looking for a cardio challenge, unlike the rest? Indoor Cycling is just that! Whether it is an endurance climb or a series of short strength intervals, indoor cycling classes are designed to add a great cardiovascular challenge to anyone's weekly workouts. Instructors choose the course each ride takes, motivating you to reach your goals along the way.

Wellness: Chair Massage --  Massage Studio, first floor
Learn about what our massage program has to offer. We will have a massage therapist available to answer questions and provide a free 5-minute chair massage.

6:15 - 7:00
Group Ex: HIIT -- Group Exercise Studio, first floor
HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) is a technique in which you give all-out, quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. Workouts are scalable to any fitness level with a focus on cardio and muscular strength/endurance.

6:15 - 7:00 
Group Ex: Barre/Pilates -- Mind Body Studio, first floor
Ditch your sneakers in this ballet-inspired sculpting class. Barre is a fun and upbeat class focusing on postural strength and alignment, followed by a series of upper body, lower body, and core strengthening. This class is high intensity while staying low impact and is perfect for all fitness levels.  No ballet experience needed.

6:45 - 7:15   
Group Ex: SUP HIIT -- Aquatics Center Activity Pool, lower level
Take your functional cross-training to the next level with this High Intensity Interval class. We’ve combined the power of plyometric training and added a dash of strength training to create this fun, yet challenging class. In this class, explore new functional methods of building strength, stamina, and mobility. Let’s see what you’re made of on the water. Please wear pool-appropriate swimwear/clothing.

7:15 - 7:45
Group Ex: SUP Yoga  -- Aquatics Center Activity Pool, lower level
Enjoy the ancient practice of Yoga combined with Stand Up Paddle Boarding! These classes take your favorite yoga routines and put them on the water to challenge your balance and discover the healing power of bringing yoga to the fluid element of the water! Both yoga and stand up paddle boarding are great for building better balance, coordination, endurance, and body strength. Please wear pool-appropriate swimwear/clothing.
