Cary Street Gym

Cary Street Gym features an 18,000 square foot Fitness Center with free weights, functional training equipment, and a wide variety of cardio equipment. We offer a variety of ADA accessible equipment. You will also find a 37-foot climbing wall and 12-foot bouldering wall,(LINK to OAP section) 4 court gymnasium, indoor track and turf court, racquetball courts, group exercise, cycling and mind/body studios, massage therapy and athletic training rooms.
Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center features the Activity Pool (25 yards, 3 ft 6 inches -12 feet deep, ADA lift) with drop slide, 14 foot climbing wall, water basketball, and typically three lanes for circle swimming. The Leisure Pool (24 yards, 0-5 ft deep, water wheelchair) includes bench seating, set-up for water volleyball, water basketball, a vortex with circular current, and typically has 2 lanes for lap swimming. The Spa (capacity 15, ADA lift) operates at a temperature of 102-104 degrees.

MCV Campus Recreation and Aquatic Center, is located inside the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center. The facility features a 7,500 square foot Fitness Center with free weights, functional training equipment, and a wide variety of cardio equipment. Also included is the Power Training Room featuring Olympic lifting platforms, the Mat Room which is designed for martial arts, racquetball and squash courts, two court gymnasium, Group Exercise and Cycling studios, and a Massage Therapy room.
The MCV Campus Aquatic Center features a pool (25 meter, 4-5 ft deep, ADA lift) water basketball area, with 6 lanes, 4 of which are typically used for lap swim and 2 lanes for informal recreation. The heated spa (102 degrees) accommodate up to 5 people at a time (ADA lift).

The Cary Street Field is an artificial turf field, with permanent markings for field hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, soccer, and flag football. The field accommodates Open Recreation, Sport Clubs, Intramural Sports and is home to VCU varsity Field Hockey and Women’s Lacrosse. Also located at the Cary St. Field is an outdoor basketball court and access to two tennis courts at the Mary & Frances Youth Center.
Recreational Sports members have access to the tennis courts at the Mary & Frances Youth Center and the Thalhimer Tennis Center. Reservations can be made by phone or by using MyRecSports.
Thalhimer Tennis Center

Thalhimer Tennis Center features 6 hard courts and is open year round, with a climate controlled bubble covering the courts from mid-October through early March.

The MFYC Tennis Courts feature two outdoor hard courts and a backboard. The courts are open year round, weather permitting.
Outing Rental Center

In addition to serving as headquarters for the Outdoor Adventure Program (LINK), the Outing Rental Center features a bike shop (LINK) and outdoor equipment rentals (LINK).
